EME sorting tower
Stainless steel machine for industrial food sorting
Description
The fruit to be sorted is rotated and turned between two counter-rotating rollers until it can pass through the gap between the two rollers at the point of its smallest diameter.
Function
By inclining the fields and placing transport spirals on the sorting rollers, the fruit is transported forwards towards the end of the roller field during the sorting process in order to remove the oversizes above the roller bed.
The fruit leaves the roller bed via a chute and can be transported out of the tower on a conveyor belt either to the right or left.
The roller gap is set via a central adjustment per field and can be easily adapted to the goods to be sorted, even during operation. The max. Adjustment is on the:
1st sorting field 20 – 60 mm
2nd sorting field 15 – 45 mm
3rd sorting field 6 – 30 mm
etc.
The rollers are driven by a revolving chain and are adjustable via a central motor in a control range of 1 : 5.
The sorting fields are stacked on top of each other in the tower. Each sort field results in a sort and an overflow. The product is fed onto the top sorting field by a scraper conveyor distributor belt.
The main advantage of our tower sorter over the conventional sorting system is that the larger fruit is sorted first and therefore cannot block the path of the smaller fruit. This has significantly improved the sorting result due to the low drop heights in the system.
Advantages of EME sorting towers

Each machine is individually adapted to your product
Larger fruits are sorted first and cannot block the path of the smaller ones.
The counter-rotating upwards conveying rollers result in gentler product handling and therefore better product quality.
